Big Oil

When considering the future of the oil and gas industry beyond 2024, it is crucial to address the often-misguided use of the term "pollutant" in reference to carbon dioxide (CO2). While CO2 is frequently categorized as a "greenhouse gas," this label can be misleading without proper context. CO2 plays a vital role in the Earth's ecosystems; it is essential for the process of photosynthesis, where plants convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, thereby sustaining plant life and, by extension, animal life, including humans. Moreover, CO2 is a natural byproduct of Moreover, CO2 is a natural byproduct of respiration in mammals. Every time we exhale, we release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, underscoring its inherent role in the respiratory cycle. Thus, describing CO2 simply as a pollutant overlooks its fundamental contributions to life on Earth. As we engage in discussions about environmental policies and regulations, particularly in regions like California, it is imperative to present these facts to government officials and policymakers. An informed dialogue that recognizes the importance of CO2 can lead to a more balanced understanding of its role in both natural processes and the broader context of climate science. Advocating for a nuanced perspective on CO2 is essential to avoid oversimplification and to promote responsible energy practices that ensure both environmental sustainability and economic viability.

Good Morning Everyone!

Today is Sunday, December 8, 2024, 6:00 am MST. At report time, we have finished running and successfully cementing the 4½” OD production casing!
Bumped the plug at 6:00 am MST. Held 3,500 psi on casing for 30 minutes.
Bottom of the casing is set at 15,707’ MD (15,712’ TD).
Great job Ben and Duane!!

The video below was previously sent on 11/16/2024.
It is a great animation of running and cementing casing in a vertical well.

  2. ND (“Nipple Down”) BOP stack
  3. Haul off mud and clean pits
  4. RDMO Rig 88 to Jeffrey City yard.

Today’s video features Part 2 of the coring video.
Steve Richards explains more of the technical aspects of the process.

Also, today’s attached pictures feature Jacek Bogucki, videographer, at his finest hour!
Jacek is responsible for all the great videos and still pictures in previous emails.
Thank you, Jacek, for your great work!!
